Police lay impaired driving charges in fatal crash near Kingsway

EDMONTON – Police have charged 27-year-old Robin Denise Cort with impaired driving causing death following a crash in north-central Edmonton just over a week ago.

The fatal collision happened last Monday afternoon at Kingsway and Princess Elizabeth Avenue. Police say a car, which Cort was said to have been driving, collided with a tractor trailer while making a left turn.

Investigators determined the tractor trailer had the right of way. Additional charges are pending the completion of the collision investigation.

Police say Cort’s 27-year-old male passenger died at the scene, while she was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 27-year-old driver of the tractor trailer did not suffer any injuries.

This was Edmonton’s fifth traffic fatality of the year.
