Man arrested following fatal Ring Road hit-and-run

REGINA – Police have arrested and charged a man in connection to a deadly hit-and-run early Saturday Morning in Regina.

35-year-old Robert Duane Barisoff of Regina has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death.

At 3:14 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the westbound Dewdney Avenue exit of Ring Road.

Arriving four minutes later, police found an 18 year old man dead along with evidence to believe he was a pedestrian and had been struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

Ring Road was closed between Victoria Avenue and Ross Avenue for part of the morning while police investigated.

Forensic identification and collision reconstruction staff assisted in the investigation.

A week ago, on April 25, a woman was killed following a hit-and-run incident on Dewdney Avenue.

Barisoff will appear in court June 17th.
