WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have sold more than 20,000 season tickets.

With a month still to go, Bomber president Wade Miller is pleased with the number and said they knew sales would be down from last season.

Last season at this time, the Bombers had topped a record 23,000 season tickets and finished close to 25,000, but last year the Bombers also finally christened their new stadium, a year behind schedule.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Fans then got to experience the frustration of trying to get in and out of the campus of the University of Manitoba, where Investors Group Field is located.

They also watched the team tie their modern CFL worst record and finish in the league cellar at 3-15.

The Bombers have also added four more players to their roster — import receiver Braylon Bell, import placekicker Brett Maher, import defensive back Matt Pierce and import defensive end Kashawn Fraser.
