It appears that by 6:10, some areas were seeing power restored.

EPCOR spokesperson Tim le Riche confirmed that two of the outages have been resolved.

Around 9:45, came this update:

According to le Riche, Tuesday’s outages were “weather related.”

“The number one cause of power outages in Edmonton is weather. It happens all year long,” le Riche explained.

“You get days like today where we’ve got a lot of moisture; and, in some cases, if there’s enough moisture it’ll run over the ceramic insulators on the lines, and then they create a circuit and a fault. And we’ve experienced that a couple times tonight.”
