WINNIPEG — The Olympic gold medalists in women’s curling are staying together for another Olympic cycle.

The foursome of Jennifer Jones, Kaitlyn Lawes, Jill Officer and Dawn McEwen announced Tuesday the team will stay together for at least four more years.  The St. Vital rink is currently in Summerside, P.E.I., for the season-ending Grand Slam Player’s Championship.

Team Jones is focusing on becoming the first Canadian team to repeat as Olympic champions.

“We are excited to officially announce that our team is fully committed to staying together and working hard to get another chance to represent Canada at the Olympics,” said Jones. “We truly enjoy playing together, and we share the same goals and commitment. And now that we’ve been to a Winter Olympics, the desire to get to another one will make us work even harder for the next four years.”

But there will be one small change as their coach Janet Arnott won’t be returning to the team. Arnott has decided to step back from coaching to devote more time to friends and family.
