B.C. parents among Canada’s least satisfied with education system

Many British Columbians simply aren’t satisfied with the quality of our public education system, all the way from kindergarten to post secondary.

B.C. parents are among the least satisfied in the country with the education system.

According to findings of an Angus Reid Global survey, more than half of respondents found the provincial government to be doing a poor job.

Many respondents blamed the labour relations issues plaguing the public school system.

When it comes to primary education, in the first quarter of this year, only 52 per cent of B.C. respondents say the province was doing a good job, compared to a 63 per cent average in all other provinces.

Despite the low ratings, B.C. students still rank high academically but there’s fears that could slip if stirke threats, contract talks and stalled negotiations ever start trickling down to the classroom.
