Spamalot

April 7, 2014 Great to meet up with the king today. And by king I mean George Gallant who’s playing the part of King Arthur in Monty Python’s Spamalot. Also joining Arthur was Derek Stevenson who plays the part of Sir Robin. As the poster says this musical is lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Search of the Holy Grail. If you like Monty Python and silliness, this is a show for you. Get your tickets now. The show opens on Tuesday April 15. I play the part of the Historian and as I like to say, I am the true spleen of the show.

Nice to catch up with Chris Fujita who is the coordinator of volunteers at the hosptial. It’s National Volunteer week and she thanks the many men, women, boys & girls who help at the hospital in one form or another. For those of you who are keeping track, I worked with Chris back at what was then LA FM back in the late 80s.

It was fun to watch the ACM awards last night and see some of the performers who have been on Scene & Heard at one time or another. Right off the bat, The Band Perry launched into one of their new songs. They were just in Lethbridge earlier this year and I found them to be so down to earth and genuine. They even agreed to do a version of I’m A Little Teapot with me (speaking of silly things). And they even won the night’s award for best Vocal Group. Also appearing on the show and on Scene & Heard were Keith Urban, Toby Keith & Rascall Flatts. They appeared on our show in 2003.

Do you ever notice that when the camera pans to people who are singing along to one of the songs, that person usually is singing the right words? If they panned to me, I’m sure I’d be way off. “…So rock me mamma like a bagel wheel…”
