On Day 2 of the Royal Visit in Canada, Kate Middleton recycled her white Reiss engagement dress and saluted Canada’s birthday with a red maple leaf fascinator by Sylvia Fletcher at Lock & Co. The Duchess of Cambridge finished off her ensemble with a pair of red pumps, a fan clutch from Anya Hindmarch and The Queen’s Maple Leaf brooch.

The Nannette dress sold out last year after Kate caused hysteria when she was pictured wearing it in formal portraits by Mario Testino.

The obsession over ‘what Kate is wearing?’ continues as fashion lovers and Canadian designers went into fashion frenzy yesterday.

The royal highness kicked off the 9-day Canadian royal tour, with her husband Prince William, in a navy blazer by Toronto-based design duo Smythe les Vestes and a black floral lace dress by Montreal-born Erdem Moralioglu.

Kate Middleton has quickly become a fashion icon. The “˜Kate Effect’ describes the Duchess of Cambridge’s influence on the fashion world. Both the Smythe blazer and the Erdem dress instantly became sought-after and must-have pieces for fashionistas.

Prince William and Kate’s first stop on Day 2 of their Royal Visit in Canada was a citizenship ceremony at the Museum of Civilization. The newlyweds are participating in the swearing in of around 25 new Canadians.
