First bronze for Huskies women’s hockey team

FREDERICTON, NB. – It’s been a historic season for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies women’s hockey team.

The Dogs won their very first conference championship a couple weeks ago, but they weren’t finished there.

On Sunday, Saskatchewan was poised to win the program’s first-ever medal in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) history in Fredericton, NB.

The Huskies were up against Wilfrid Laurier University’s Golden Hawks in the bronze medal game.

Saskatchewan won it 6-3, for third place at the 2014 Scotiabank CIS women’s hockey championship.
