WINNIPEG – Sunday evening’s snowfall created a slippery, snowy drive Monday morning, leading to multiple crashes in and around Winnipeg.
Winnipeg and the Interlake got approximately 8 to 10 centimetres of snow and the Whiteshell got 5 to 8 cm. Brandon got just 5 cm of snow while Dauphin got 2 cm, with close to 5 cm falling in Riding Mountain National Park.
At least four vehicles slid off Route 90 near the Perimeter Highway before 8 a.m. and a vehicle was seen upside down next to Highway 59. Another crash seriously damaged two vehicles on Highway 3 just northeast of Brunkild, Man.

Traffic lights were also out at a number of intersections around Winnipeg. Intersections where lights are out should be treated as four-way stops, which further slows traffic.
The provincial road report showed ice, drifting and blowing snow and reduced visibility on the Perimeter Highway and north, east and southeast of Winnipeg.
The forecast says Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high of -2 C in Winnipeg.
