A bus driver who was viciously attacked on her job is speaking out about her ordeal.
The bus driver was allegedly assaulted by three women who were being disruptive and openly drinking at the back of her bus on Tuesday.
The bus driver, whose identity was withheld by request, spoke to Global News about her terrifying experience.
She says she has suffered both physical and psychological injuries.
“I suffered a large chunk of hair being pulled from my hair, and bruises and scratches to my face,” she says. “The emotional roller coaster I am feeling right now is extremely difficult. I am unable to focus, and I am having a hard time concentrating on daily activities.”
The three women were arrested and charged with assault, but released from custody and given court dates.
One of the women arrested had 462 “negative police contacts” recorded.
She was let go to a recovery house, but two of the three alleged attackers could be riding the buses right now.
“Only one of those women was given a no-go to the bus system,” says transit police spokesperson Anne Drennan. “You can see that we can keep one off the system, but the other two still have opportunities to ride the buses.”

The bus driver says that adds insult to her injuries.
“I am fearful that when I am able to return to work that they will come looking for me,” she says.
The bus driver also says it is not the first time she has been assaulted. She says she was groped by a male passenger in 2012, but the suspect was acquitted.
There have been 52 incidents involving bus drivers so far this year; 19 are being investigated criminally.
Yesterday, another bus driver was shaken up after being confronted at the Coquitlam exchange.
The driver was confronted by a man he had a previous encounter with last month.
Transit officials say the driver was threatened before the man took off.
The suspect was later arrested and released on a promise to appear.
