TORONTO – City hall will host a public meeting Monday night to discuss Porter Airlines’ bid to expand the runways at Billy Bishop Airport.
City staff is expected to make a short presentation before taking questions from the audience about Porter’s proposal to lengthen the runways so the company can operate their new Bombardier jets at the island airport.
The meeting will take place between 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Toronto’s executive committee is supposed to vote on the proposal on Feb. 4 before it is presented to city council.
Last week, it was revealed that the Toronto Port Authority is seeking up to $100 million in federal funding for infrastructure improvements at the airport.
