WINNIPEG – Jennifer Jones’ and Brad Jacobs’ curling rinks were officially nominated to the Canadian Olympic team on Monday morning.
“Our dreams have come true,” Winnipegger Jones told the crowd after the teams donned their Canada jackets.
Sochi 2014 chef de mission and former Olympic downhill skier Steve Podborski, Canadian Olympic Committee president Marcel Aubut, Canadian Curling Association CEO Greg Stremlaw and Canadian Heritage Minister Shelly Glover, the MP for St. Boniface, were part of the nomination at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Jones, a Winnipeg lawyer, third Kaitlyn Lawes, second Jill Officer, lead Dawn McEwen, alternate Kirsten Wall and coach Janet Arnott beat Ontario’s Sherry Middaugh Saturday night at the Olympic curling trials in Winnipeg.
Jacobs, who curls out of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Winnipeg-born third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and his brother, lead Ryan Harnden, beat Alberta’s John Morris in Sunday’s final at the Roar of the Rings.
