U.S. Supreme Court blocks affirmative action in college admissions
The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday struck down affirmative action in college admissions, forcing institutions of higher education to look for new ways to achieve diverse student bodies. U.S. President Joe Biden said in remarks following the court’s decision that he “strongly disagree(s)” with the court’s decision, adding it “can’t be the last word.”
