Climate Science: Turning green waste into energy
Description
March 20, 2026
Human-released methane is the second largest driver of global warming. If managed wisely, it could also be the best and quickest way to battle global warming. Kristi Gordon shows how the City of Surrey is reducing methane by turning green waste into energy. She explains how the facility takes advantage of the natural carbon cycle to produce energy to heat homes and power vehicles.
