Ford vice-president for EVs Lisa Drake announced on Thursday that the company would be building a $1.2 billion plant to produce electric vehicle (EV) battery materials in Becancour, Quebec. Construction is expected to start in the first half of 2026 and the plant is expected to create more than 345 jobs.
