Telus announces 6,000 layoffs following 61% profit drop

Officials with Telus announced the company would be laying off 6,000 employees globally on Friday — 4,000 of which are from the Vancouver-based Telus headquarters. The telecommunications giant cited an evolving regulatory and competitive environment, as well as macroeconomic challenges.
