Vehicles cruised through the city’s streets Saturday morning honking their horns and holding out signs in protest of Quebec’s French language law, Bill 96. Those who participated told Global they were doing it to save English Montreal. The legislation amends the Charter of the French language and has been heavily criticized since its passing in 2022. Organizers say the bill will destroy the city’s small English identity.
