President Joe Biden and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö held a press conference in Helsinki on Thursday, after Finland was accepted into NATO. In his remarks, Biden re-emphasized the U.S. commitment to protecting not only Finland, but all NATO allies and Ukraine amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. “The United States is committed to Finland, committed to NATO, and those commitments are rock solid,” he said.
