This week could be critical for the future of Ukraine. With no end in sight to Russia’s invasion, NATO leaders are gathering in Lithuania for a key summit. The world’s biggest security alliance is divided on several issues including if and how Ukraine should be granted membership. The Ukrainian president plans to attend the annual meeting this week looking for security guarantees. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will also attend the NATO summit and on his way to Lithuania, he’ll stop first in Latvia where Canada has its largest overseas military deployment.
