Selkirk chief administrative officer Duane Nicol spoke on Monday about the city’s initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve biodiversity by planting wild grasses on a section of Main Street and in Selkirk Park, in Manitoba. Nicol added that the introduction of more natural grasses will significantly reduce Selkirk’s maintenance budget.
