Randy Boissonnault, minister of tourism, culture and sport, launched the Canadian federal government’s new tourism growth strategy on Tuesday in Niagara Falls, Ont., with a goal to grow the sector 40 per cent by 2030. The strategy includes five “pegs,” which include investing in existing assets, embracing recreation and the “great outdoors,” creating Indigenous tourism opportunities, attracting more business and sporting events, and aligning government priorities to grow tourism.
