Public outcry over upcoming transit fare hike in Montreal
Description
June 27, 2023
Just as Montrealers are planning their Canada Day celebrations, they may want to put some extra cash aside for something that is nothing to cheer about. Public transit fares are set to increase starting July 1. The average increase is three per cent, the highest jump in years. As Global's Tim Sargeant reports, many transit users say they can't afford it.
