Moments after being declared as Toronto’s runner-up for mayor on Monday, Ana Bailão took to the stage to congratulate former NDP MP Olivia Chow on her victory. Though Bailão said the results were not what she was hoping for, she also said that “I’m so optimistic about the future of our city.”
