Canada’s housing crisis is nearing its boiling point. In 2022, The Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation reported that Canada needed to build 5.8 million new homes by 2030 to help achieve housing affordability. It’s critical that happens because just last year Canada’s population grew by more than a million people. Immigration accounts for 96 per cent of that growth. As Mike Drolet reports, chasing the Canadian dream is an absolute nightmare.
