Trudeau continues to stand by David Johnston despite calls that he step down
Description
June 2, 2023
Speaking at a press conference in Ottawa on Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau re-iterated his support for special rapporteur David Johnston, who was appointed in March to investigate allegations of foreign election interference. Saying that the leaders of the Conservative and Bloc Quebecois parties “continue to smear a man of unimpeachable integrity,” Trudeau also claimed that opposition party leader Pierre Poilievre is choosing “to fling mud and make personal attacks.”
