A motion was passed in Canada’s House of Commons Wednesday to have David Johnston “step aside” as Canada’s special rapporteur investigating foreign election interference. Opposition MPs voted on the non-binding notion in the afternoon. The result, 174 to 150, also calls upon the government to launch a public inquiry into foreign interference, despite Johnston recently stating such an inquiry is not needed in his view.
