Two surgeons at Montreal’s Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital preformed a groundbreaking eye surgery on Monday. The specialists operated on an 11 year-old boy who suffers from a rare genetic condition that causes blindness. The gene therapy is the first operation of its kind in Quebec, and the first to be publicly funded in Canada. Global’s Amanda Jelowicki reports.
