It was a G7 Summit, unlike any other. While the to-do list for the Summit in Hiroshima, Japan was long, Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s invasion was at the top of the priority list. And while many leaders of the world’s democracies are in agreement on helping Ukraine, there are still many other issues that there is disagreement on. Mackenzie Gray reports. During Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Japan, Russia came out claiming the longest battle of the war was over. After months of fierce fighting, the Kremlin says Russian-backed forces have taken full control of the Eastern-Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. As Redmond Shannon reports, Zelenskyy appeared to confirm the victory only to roll back on it later on.
