Canadian officials modernize passport renewal process after last year’s backlog

After highlighting new design and security features of Canada’s brand-new passports on Wednesday, Social Development Minister Karina Gould revealed that modernizing the passport renewal process was a priority for officials after mass application backlogs last year. She dubbed it a “lesson learned.”
