Alberta Wildfire information unit manager Christie Tucker said as of Tuesday afternoon, there were 88 wildfires burning and 24 of them are out of control. She said the fire danger remains high up north, however cooler temperatures and moisture in central Alberta is helping firefighters get ahead on fire breaks before it is expected to get hot and dry again on the weekend. More help has arrived from Yukon, Quebec, Ontario and B.C. She reiterated there is a fire ban and recreational vehicle restriction in the Forest Protection Area.
