Manitoba Hydro discusses nature, impacts of rapidly multiplying zebra mussels

Manitoba Hydro Environmental Specialist Mathew Bannerman on Tuesday discussed the province’s approach to mitigate invasive zebra mussels in Manitoba waters leading into spring. Bannerman said that in water, bodies such as Steven’s Lake near Gillam, 500,000 zebra muscles are present per 1000 liters of water.
