‘No Mow May’ not all it’s cracked up to be, says Peterborough gardening expert
Description
May 2, 2023
For a number of years, May has been referred to as “No Mow May”, a movement to encourage you to leave your lawn, dandelions and all, for the entire month. The idea was to support and nurture bees and other developing pollinators, encouraging biodiversity in our food source and the planet.
Now, one Peterborough gardening expert says that while saving the pollinators and promoting biodiversity is the goal... this movement may not be the best way to do it.
Mary-Jane Pilgrim, president of the Peterborough Horticultural Society, joins Teresa Kaszuba on Global News Morning Peterborough to explain.
