Canada-US border rule change deterring irregular crossings takes effect
Description
March 25, 2023
A major Canada-U.S. border rule change came into effect at midnight on Saturday. Canada and the United States have agreed to implement the Safe Third Country Agreement across the entire shared land border, to deter irregular border crossings at unofficial entries like Roxham Road. As Mike Drolet reports, experts are concerned crossings will still happen – but in a more dangerous way.
