Eye drops recalled in U.S. after reports of vision loss, deaths

Eye drops distributed by EzriCare and Delsam Pharma have been recalled, according to a recall notice by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The recall comes amid the discovery of a rare strain of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the eye drops that has been linked to the deaths of three people. Eight people have also reported vision loss and four others had to have their eyeball surgically removed. Anyone who has signs of an eye infection and has used EzriCare or Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears should seek medical care immediately.
