Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday he was tasking Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino with launching consultations into a foreign influence transparency registry for agents who work on behalf of foreign states. He said Mendicino would also establish a “counter-foreign interference coordinator” to oversee the work and recommendations coming from various agencies and committees.
