Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday he would appoint an “eminent Canadian” to the role of special rapporteur, to probe foreign interference in Canadian elections. Trudeau said the appointee would have a “wide mandate” to oversee new probes and provide public recommendations – including whether a public inquiry is needed.
