Since the war in Ukraine began, the Russian military has suffered one setback after another, with the same was expected for the Russian economy. Western sanctions were supposed to bring the country to its knees. But within weeks, the Russian economy began to rebound — though still hard hit by Western isolation. As Eric Sorensen reports, Russia has been able to build new trade channels abroad and spur domestic industries at home.
