Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante appeared before a Quebec Superior Court judge on Wednesday. Plante was testifying in a class action lawsuit against the city for racial discrimination and profiling. The mayor was playing a balancing act of trying to defend the city and the police department while admitting that systemic racism exists. Global’s Tim Sargeant reports.
