Winnipeg Mayor Scott Gillingham reacted on Monday to the assault on a father and his 10-year-old son that occurred on Thursday on a Winnipeg transit bus. Gillingham announced that a “safety team” to serve transit specifically will be created to make transit a safe space for all users.
