Winnipeg community advocates gather to rally against the sale of Lion’s Place

Shauna McKinnon, with the Right To Housing Coalition Winnipeg, rallied in support of the residents against the sale of Lion's Place on Thursday. McKinnon said Manitoba can prevent displacing low and fixed-income seniors by strengthening rent control legislation and setting up a non-profit housing acquisition fund to purchase buildings that are threatened to be sold to corporate landlords.
