Accused of under-reporting COVID deaths, China says it’s ‘transparent’ with data

China’s foreign ministry claimed Thursday to be open about its COVID-19 data after the World Health Organization (WHO) accused it of under-reporting virus-linked deaths. China reported five new deaths related to COVID-19 for Jan. 3, bringing the official death toll to 5,258.
