With an aggressive start to the flu season, many hospitals across Canada have been overwhelmed with young patients. Here in the Interior Health region, emergency rooms are seeing more children access care but the influx is being attributed to not only an intense flu season, but also an increased level of concern among parents–creating long and sometimes unnecessary waits in emergency. As Klaudia Van Emmerik reports, Interior Health is hoping a new resource guide helps determine whether a visit to the E R is needed or not.
