Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced a plan for 53,000 additional new licensed childcare spaces by December 2026, as well as a fee reduction for families with children under the age of six of up to 50 per cent by end of this year.
