Imperative for tentative agreement to go into effect amid U.S. rail strike: Transportation Secretary Buttigieg

Speaking in Memphis, Tenn., on Tuesday, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told media that it's imperative that the tentative agreement goes into effect as interruptions in cargo transportation via rail would have disastrous supply chain effects nationwide. "This is about making sure that our economy avoids will be the devastating consequences of a shutdown," Buttigieg said.
