Impacts of 2022 Living Wage Report for residents on Ontario Works and ODSP

An alarming report released by United Way Peterborough & District is highlighting the growing gap between Ontario's minimum wage and the wage needed to actually make ends meet. In the Eastern region - including in Peterborough and the Kawarthas - an average of $19 an hour is needed to afford basic necessities. For residents on Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program, 26% or 44% of a living wage is the reality. United Way's Betsy Farrar, principal author of this year's report, breaks down the implications of this gap.
