Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Friday he has spoken with union leaders in Ontario as the provincial government invokes the notwithstanding clause to impose a contract and suspend their right to strike. He added the use of the notwithstanding clause is an “attack on people’s fundamental rights” and should be condemned by all Canadians.
