Canadians are buying more electric vehicles. New Statistics Canada data shows a nearly 20 per cent increase in zero-emission vehicle sales in May compared to a year prior. The findings don’t list the reason why. Months of geopolitical turmoil forcing fuel prices higher might explain the shift, but an analyst stresses another data point: the zero-emission vehicle share of total vehicle purchases is still small.
