The Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly swore in Nathaniel Teed, the first openly gay MLA, on Wednesday. Teed is also the youngest member of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly. In late September, Teed swept the Saskatoon-Meewasin by-election earning the highest number of votes the province has seen in 40 years. Teed said he hopes he could bring diversity to the Saskatchewan government and the education field.
