In the last few days, 127,000 elementary and high school students throughout Ontario had the opportunity to vote for municipal candidates running in their communities, while learning some key basics of municipal government and actually running elections.
It happened through the dedicated efforts of teachers and students, supported by Civix Canada, a registered charity that brings teaching tools, outlines and municipal government planning to the classroom.
Outreach officer Ruth Matthew joined Teresa Kaszuba to share our region’s results.
